Senior Product Designer | £40,000-£70,000 + Equity

London, England, United Kingdom Full-time

We’re looking for a smart, self-starting and customer-centric product designer who wants to work on a topic that matters to everyone: money.

As Cleo grows rapidly towards a million worldwide users, the problems we’re trying to solve get more complex. Budgeting, savings, and long-term money plans all require a customer-centric approach to AI. That’s why we need you!

What you’ll work on:

  • Product features key to Cleo’s success. You’ll be taking customer problems and designing simple, robust and elegant solutions.
  • Cleo sits within Facebook Messenger and has complex interaction patterns between its chat and web UI. You’ll be designing systems for ‘mass personalisation’ both in the UK and the US.
  • Cleo has an active (closed) community of users and a growing list of alpha testers. You’ll be charged with testing your concepts with them, refining and iterating from their feedback.
  • We run multiple A/B tests on every aspect of our product, as your features ship you’ll continue to iterate on them from the data we get back from our 400,000+ users.

How you’ll work:

You’ll take time to understand our customers and always represent them in each conversation. You’ll be open and communicative through the design process, but know when to stop talking and ship the feature. You’ll work closely with the Head of Product and all teams at Cleo, taking feedback from customer ops to fuel your design process.

You’ll be a key part of growing design team and, although you’ll live to design, you’ll be just as happy in a room with your colleagues sketching out ideas on a big piece of paper.

Why you should join:

You will;

  • Get to work at one of the fastest growing, venture-backed startups anywhere in the world. We have gone from 200,000 users in February to over 400,000 by June.
  • Work with one of the smartest, dedicated and passionate teams in Europe.
  • Have a genuine impact on people's lives. Hundreds of thousands of people chat to Cleo every week! We make a positive difference to quality of life.

About you:

  • A strong portfolio of digital work bursting with smart solutions and delivered with a progressive approach to product design.
  • You’ll have designed websites, apps or other digital products at a commercial level.
  • You’ll have at least 4 years full-time experience working in design teams.
  • You’ll have worked in start-ups, design agencies or innovation teams, developing and shipping propositions.
  • You’ll have good graphic design styles and can apply Cleo’s design language to your work.
  • You’ll have a favourite hi-fi + low-fi prototyping tool and not be bound to developers to create testable mockups.
  • You’ll use the right tool for the job - We’re not tied to one particular program, the world moves too fast for that. That said, Sketch, Invision Studio, Adobe XD are all flavours of the current design crop. Plus Adobe creative suite, obvs.

Additionally,

  • You’ll be full of energy, ideas, and genuinely love what you do.
  • You’ll find it hard to let go and always want to refine your solution based on new data and feedback. 1% is a big deal to you.
  • You’ll be an exceptional communicator.
  • You’ll always be hungry to learn something new and not set specific design tools.
  • You believe in the power of a great team and relish working collaboratively.
  • And you’ll be a nice human.

If you aren’t completely confident that you fit our exact criteria, please get in touch immediately. Humility is a wonderful thing - we're at least as interested in character as in talent.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
